Program Description

A Better Chance is a college preparatory program that offers a challenging educational opportunity to academically talented, economically disadvantaged minority students who are determined to succeed.

A Better Chance in Lower Merion is part of the Community Schools Program (CSP) of the national A Better Chance organization. CSPs give scholars an opportunity to attend a highly-ranked public school in a suburban setting.

CSPs are run by a Board of Directors and supported financially by contributions from the community.

Our scholars (all male) live in a house in Ardmore, PA and attend Lower Merion High School. There are currently eight scholars and five staff members in residence.
